![]() This raw white alabaster stone I found in 1979 in Italy, where Tuscany borders on Umbria. The alabaster stone was lying in a deserted field, close to an old stone factory and had been resting there since Etruscan times. The stone weighted about four tons and was the last white alabaster of its size left in Italy. I wanted to find the heart, the musical sound of the stone, wich I hoped was alive and enclosed with elements of the surrounding landscape. So wherever it travels it shall always carry its own landscape. |
