The power of man represented by Min Tanaka a Japanese Butoh dancer. The
dancer gave form to manifest physical power in an abstract way. He fought
the stones, break through the stones, imprison himself up in the stone,
make love to the stone and petrified.
The performance took place in full summer with the dry earth, the mistral
and the strong odour of the herbs of Provence. I regarded the performance
as an hommage to the Marquis de Sade and the inhabitants of Lacoste.
The sculptures are in the collection of PGGM, Zeist, NL. |
